Pakistan and India’s Bilateral Cricket Series to Finally Resume This Year: Reports

Archenemies Pakistan and India could resume bilateral cricket series this year, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) receiving approval from higher-ups to play a series in late 2021.

According to an unnamed PCB official, the board has been told to “be prepared” in the event that a neutral cross-border exchange allows both countries to meet on the field after nearly a decade of bilateral series suspension due to rising political tensions.

If this occurs, the series will premiere in the second half of 2021. Prior to the development, PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani made some interesting remarks to that effect. “Pakistan must host the Asia Cup in 2023. The inclusion of India in the tournament will be a significant step forward for Pakistan cricket,” he said.

The current political situation could influence the final decision. Internal unrest occurs on both sides of the border, and a friendly match on a cricket pitch could just make things a little easier for the majority.
