British Council Doubles Scholarships for Pakistani Students

The Scottish Government’s Minister for Foreign Development, Neil Gray, has announced doubling the amount of scholarships available through the British Council’s Scotland Pakistan Scholarship Programme for Young Women and Girls.

According to a news release from the embassy released here on Thursday, the £500,000 extra funding will double the number of school and university scholarships available to women and girls in the worst flood-affected areas, ensuring they can continue their education with the least amount of disruption possible.

The Scotland Pakistan Scholarship Program for Young Women and Girls, which was established in late 2013, seeks to increase access to secondary and higher education for disadvantaged girls in Pakistan by offering them scholarships.
