The notion of Pakistan playing their ICC World Cup 2023 matches in Bangladesh has been ruled out by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Prior to the major event, it was announced that Pakistan will not participate since the BCCI had opted not to send its squad to Pakistan for the Asia Cup this year.
“During the Board meeting, there was no mention of Bangladesh, and the Board fully supported the event in India. Our attention is on that “a representative of the ICC informed Cricbuzz on Wednesday night.
Wasim Khan, the general manager of the International Cricket Council, also made a suggestion that Pakistan may play at the World Cup at a neutral site.
Wasim, a former CEO of the PCB, told a Pakistani news site, “A neutral venue is definitely likely. I don’t know if it will take place here in a different nation.
“Pakistan won’t likely play any of its games in India, in my opinion. As India’s Asia Cup matches, I believe their games would also be played at a neutral site.”
A BCCI officer, however, had a strong response to Wasim’s remarks.
Wasim Khan should quit acting like the CEO of the PCB, a top BCCI official stated, “He has no business talking about the neutral venue.”
