Law does not Empower Anyone to Postpone Elections, New Twist in Election Case

Justice Muneeb Akhtar said that in the petition, there is a request to cancel the decision of the Election Commission. On which the Attorney General said that the basis of the petition is the court decision of March 1, the president has also been requested to give a date in KP, the court had asked to give the date to the president for Punjab and the governor for KP, the governor KP did not give the date until the petition was filed.

During the hearing of the case related to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab elections in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Chief Justice of Pakistan said that we had said that we will see the full court later.

When the hearing started, Pakistan People’s Party’s lawyer Farooq H Naik came on the rostrum, but the court refused to hear the lawyers of the government coalition.

“Are you being a part of the case?” the chief justice asked. Weren’t you boycotting?

Farooq H Naik replied that we did not boycott.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan said that you should tell us in consultation, tell us in writing, even if you do not boycott, tell us.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial and comprising Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar is hearing the case.
