According to the official reports and data the prices of sugar are falling in the global market; however, due to which the government of Pakistan is considering in launching an international tender like for the import of about 50,000 tons of sugar sweetener to keep the price of this sweetener within its official ongoing retail rates.
Moreover, this proposal was also addressed during a meeting of NPMC- National Price Monitoring Committee, which was guided over by Hammad Azhar, the Minister of Finance, Revenue, and the Industries.
The industries’ ministry will soon float the tender depending upon the quotation of the price. Earlier the tenders were simply cancelled just because of the higher prices.
