Rabi Peerzada’s Painting of Maryam Nawaz Finally Sold for 150,000

Rabi Peerzada, a 43-year-old Pakistani pop singer and self-taught artist, recently made headlines with her portrait of Maryam Nawaz, the former first daughter of Pakistan. The painting was intended to be sold to benefit orphans and underprivileged children in the country. Despite her efforts, Peerzada struggled to find a buyer until YouTuber Yasir Shami facilitated the sale to a buyer for PKR 150,000.

Peerzada expressed her frustration that Maryam Nawaz’s portrait did not sell as quickly as her paintings of Imran Khan, the current Prime Minister of Pakistan. This difference in sales may be attributed to the political affiliations of the two figures. Maryam Nawaz is a controversial figure due to her family’s political history.

The sale of the painting, however, is a testament to the growing popularity of art in Pakistan and the potential for artists to use their talents to benefit society. Peerzada’s success with the portrait of Maryam Nawaz is also indicative of a new trend of celebrities entering the art world to support charitable causes.

Thanks to the sale of the painting, Peerzada was able to distribute the proceeds to children in need. The buyer, Irfan, also pledged to support Peerzada’s foundation if she required financial assistance in the future.
