BPL Franchise Owner Nafisa Kamal Eager to Buy New Team PSL Franchise

Comilla Victorians, the franchise owner in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), is reportedly eager to expand her holdings by purchasing a franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hopes to add the two new franchises by the next season, the owners of the current teams have expressed their concerns because they think their portion of the profit margin will significantly decline. Najam Sethi, the chairman of the PCB, has promised that the board will assume responsibility if any franchise loses money.

Although the exact date of the two teams’ debut is yet unknown, it is anticipated that the tenth iteration of the competition would be considered as the ideal time to introduce two extra teams to the fray.

The Peshawar Zalmi owner, Javed Afridi, previously disclosed that Sialkot and Faisalabad will be the home cities of the two forthcoming PSL teams. While Najam Sethi acknowledged the addition of two new teams, he omitted to identify which cities will have a franchise in Pakistan’s top T20 competition.

However, according to the agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the current six franchises, therefore it is doubtful that any more teams would join over the league’s upcoming two seasons.
