The Oldest Masjid in China, It Was Built Over 1,300 Year Ago by a Companion

There is no controversy related to the importance of mosques in Islam. They have collected Muslims under one roof for ages.  They have consistently demonstrated to the entire world the unity of Islam.

There are a few of these mosques whose names are mentioned in historical records. Those who have mixed Muslims of various racial and cultural backgrounds. Those who have spread a message of unity over the entire planet. Such locations have been extremely important in promoting Islam as well as serving the ummah.

The first mosque in China and all of Asia is the Huaiseng Mosque. With a history of more than 1,300 years, it is said to be the oldest mosque site in China.

Saad ibn Abi Waqqas, a follower of the Prophet who is said to have arrived in China in the 620s, constructed the mosque in 627. The minaret, which has two levels and a height of 36 metres, was the highest structure in the city up until the turn of the 21st century.

It is incredibly gratifying to know that, due to the efforts of our Chinese people, the mosque has been fully preserved after hundreds of years. The attention of travelers is likewise growing constantly.
