How to Apply?
To apply for the scholarship, students should visit their country’s embassy website and find the Japanese Government Scholarship under the Culture and Education section of the menu. Students should then follow the guidelines provided on the Website of Japanese Embassy.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents to apply for the scholarship
- Mark Sheet Form
- Application Form
- Recommendation Letter
- Health Certificate
- Research Plan, required for research students only
- Abstract of thesis
- Marks sheet of Secondary School: (Matric/O Levels, Attested copy)
- Marks sheet of Higher Secondary School: (Intermediate/A Levels, Attested copy)
- Attested copy of Certificate of enrollment from current educational institution (if applicable)
- Hope certificate issued by the Institute (for students whose final result is expected by August 2023)
Note: Submitted documents will not be returned, and certificates and documents other than those mentioned above will not be considered.
Knowledge of Japanese Language and IELTS/TOEFL is not mandatory.
Duration of the Scholarship
The duration of the scholarship varies according to the degree level
- Bachelor’s Degree: 4 to 5 years
- Master’s Degree: 2 to 3 years
- Doctoral Degree: 3 to 4 years
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria
- Applicants must be from countries that have diplomatic relations with Japan.
- Applicants must not have Japanese nationality.
- Applicants must have been born after 2 April 1986.
