The first floating hotel in the UAE is set to open its doors in early 2025, following delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Kempinski Floating Palace Hotel, located in Ras Al Khaimah, will feature 200 rooms and suites, along with 48 villas that can cruise along the UAE coast.
The project, expected to cost AED 1.2 billion ($326 million), reflects the ongoing real estate boom in the UAE. In 2022 alone, Dubai witnessed the addition of 804 new hotels, marking a 6.5% increase from the previous year.
The developers, The Floating Venice LLC, have announced that the hotel will be ready to welcome guests by early 2025. Construction is currently underway in Ras Al Khaimah’s Island Port, with 50% of the project already completed. However, the villas are available for sale, presenting a lucrative investment opportunity.
