Pakistani mangoes set to arrive this month in UAE

Mango lovers in the UAE are in for a treat as Pakistani mangoes are set to reach UAE later this month. The juicy mangoes will grace the shelves of UAE stores from May 20 onwards, alongside their journey to other countries around the globe.

Mustafa Altaf, the managing director of Altaf Hussain Trading Co., expressed his excitement, stating

The crop has been very good this year across the country; therefore, supply will also be strong and prices more economical.

Pakistani mangoes have garnered worldwide popularity, making them a significant export for the country’s agricultural sector. It contributes millions of dollars to its exchequer. The UAE alone receives around a dozen varieties of mangoes. These include Chaunsa, Langra, Sindhri, Anwar Ratool, Dusehri, Saroli, Almas, Fajri, and others.

The first batch of mangoes to arrive in the UAE will include the Sindhri, Almas, and Dusehri varieties from the Sindh province. Pakistan is among the world’s largest mango exporters. It holds its position alongside India, China, Thailand, and Indonesia. Apart from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, UK, USA, Canada, EU countries, and Singapore are also major destinations for Pakistani mango exports.

However, due to the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee against the Emirati dirham, prices in the UAE are expected to be cheaper compared to last year.

Mustafa Altaf said:

The additional benefit is that the rupee has dropped drastically against the UAE dirham in the past year, and this also makes imports from Pakistan cheaper.

The Middle East plays a pivotal role as a major export region for Pakistani mangoes in terms of volume.

So, get ready to indulge your taste buds in the irresistible sweetness of Pakistani mangoes. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to savor these tropical delights that have captivated the hearts of mango connoisseurs worldwide.
