Pakistan Becomes World No. 1 in Diabetes

Pakistan has been identified as the country with the highest prevalence of diabetes worldwide, according to a study conducted by World of Statistics, a group supported by the Georgia State University Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

The study analyzed data from 38 nations, revealing that Pakistan has a diabetes prevalence rate of 30.8%. Kuwait ranked second with a diabetes incidence of 24.9%, followed by Egypt at 20.9%.

Health experts from around the globe emphasize the importance of regular exercise in preventing and managing diseases like diabetes. Unfortunately, Pakistan, being the fifth most populous country, also experiences a significant number of premature deaths under the age of 60 due to chronic medical conditions.

Alarmingly, over a quarter of adults with diabetes in Pakistan remain undiagnosed, highlighting the need for increased funding and efforts to address this issue.

In contrast, Nigeria boasts the lowest percentage of diabetes cases, with a prevalence rate of only 3.6%, as reported by statistics.
