Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given his approval for Naila Kiani, a renowned mountaineer, to be conferred with the civil award Sitara-i-Imtiaz in recognition of her successful summit of Mount Everest. Kiani, who recently became the second Pakistani woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest, will be honored for her outstanding achievement.
The Prime Minister’s Office has issued a notification, directing the completion of all necessary formalities for the award. Kiani’s remarkable feat also includes being the first Pakistani woman to summit six 8,000-meter mountains, with her recent successful climb of Mount Lhotse, the fourth highest mountain in the world.
