Earlier this month, Vice Chancellor Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha launched the ‘Smart Classroom’ project at the University of Education in Lahore. The project is part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative and aims to improve online and distance learning in Pakistan’s higher education sector.
During the inauguration, Vice Chancellor Dr. Talat mentioned that the project will play a significant role in promoting student-teacher interaction through interactive online and distance learning systems. It will also help address the shortage of qualified faculty members at universities, especially in remote areas, and raise the overall standard of education.
Additionally, Dr. Talat inaugurated a 5-day training workshop in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Huawei. The workshop is designed to equip faculty and IT staff members from public-sector universities in Central Punjab with the necessary skills to effectively use smart classroom technologies and enhance teaching methods.
Dr. Talat expressed appreciation for the support of the Chinese government and Huawei in bringing this project to life.
