Murtaza Wahab Elected as Karachi Mayor

Murtaza Wahab from the People’s Party (PPP) has been unofficially declared as the chosen mayor of Karachi. The counting process, done by a show of hands, has been completed for the mayoral and deputy mayoral elections in Karachi.

Murtaza Wahab from the PPP and Hafiz Naeemur Rehman from Jamaat-e-Islami were the candidates for the mayor’s position.Unofficial results show that Murtaza Wahab received 173 votes, while Hafiz Naeem, the joint candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami and Tehreek-e-Insaf, received 160 votes.

Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has raised concerns about the election process, claiming that 30 elected officials are missing and may have faced mistreatment. He questions the fairness of the election under such circumstances. Despite these challenges, he remains confident in their eventual success against the tactics of the PPP.
