Claims are made about issuing of Rs. 10,000 banknotes amid the surging inflation and rupee devaluation. Clarifying all such statements, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) affirmed to local media that news about issuance of higher denomination banknotes is false and people must stay alert for any fraud.
The false claims stirred conversations on social media and Twitter where people declared such gossip as false since there was the name of Yasin Anwar, SBP Governor on the pictures of Rs. 10,000 circulating on the internet.
Such false news has also been made previously during 2018 and Central Bank rejected all such rumors about releasing of new currency notes. The general public should stay cautious of any fraud that can be made by counterfeited notes.
