In a surprising turn of events, Najam Sethi has withdrawn his name for the the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) saying that he does not intend to be ‘bone of contention’ between PM Shehbaz Sharif and Asif Zardari.
The current chairman of the PCB Management Committee, took to his twitter account on Tuesday stressing the need to avoid any instability at PCB and therefore, he no longer wishes to be the candidate to become Chairman of PCB. He ended the tweet by wishing good luck to all the other stakeholders.
In addition, the Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC), Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari has put forward Zaka Ashraf as the chairman of PCB in near future. Zaka Ashraf holds the support of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) as well.
