Scientists Reveal the Reason Why Most People Feel That Time Passes Quickly

We all feel like time is passing by really fast. The explanation for this feeling lies in our brain’s internal clock.

When a child is born, its mind is working fast to analyze the surroundings, and therefore, time feels to pass by slowly. However, as a human start growing, the internal clock slows down making a person feel like life is moving faster.

According to a study, the release of dopamine after the age of 20 also decreases which has a link to the feeling that time is flying.

The sensation also has a relation to our routine. During the teenage, people have fixed schedules and life seems to pass by quickly. So, trying out new activities will make you get interested in life and your mind will focus on other activities too just like children and adolescents, a reason they do not experience the notion of time flying by.

There is also a connection with happiness. When people are bored and have nothing to do, time is difficult to proceed however, when you are enjoying, it passes quickly. As per a study, the brain perceives the passing of time at different speeds depending upon a person’s routine.

Another study reveals that the brain makes connections when a person is involved in certain activities like playing a game or working on a project etc., the faster the connections are made, the faster the time passes by.
