Government College University Lahore Launches Free Education Program

Government College University (GCU) Lahore has announced a groundbreaking initiative, “Free Education for All,” aimed at providing accessible education to individuals seeking knowledge. In its initial phase, the program will be launched as a pilot project at the Institute of History in the upcoming fall semester of 2023. The university plans to expand the program to other departments in subsequent stages.

To participate in the program, interested applicants must complete a police verification process, obtain a university card worth Rs 200, and seek the approval of the chairperson and teacher of the desired program or course. Initially, the “Free Education for All” program will offer courses within the Institute of Global and Historical Studies, focusing on disciplines such as history, art history, and archival studies. However, the university has outlined plans to extend the program to other departments, with a scheduled expansion in the spring semester of 2024.
