The basic tariff of electricity has been increased by Rs4.96 per unit.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has issued a notification to increase the prices, according to which the basic tariff of electricity will be Rs 29.78 per unit with the new increase. Earlier, the basic tariff of electricity was Rs 24.82.
Nepra says that the basic tariff of electricity has been fixed for the year 2023-24, earlier the basic tariff of electricity was Rs 24.82, the reason for the increase in the basic tariff of electricity is the depreciation of the rupee, the decrease in the sale of electricity and capacity payments are the reasons for the increase in the basic tariff.
