Pakistan vs India Clash on 2nd September as Asia Cup 2023 Schedule Revealed

According to the sources, the most sought-after match between Pakistan and India will take place on 2nd September in Kandy. The tournament will commence on August 30 with a match between Nepal and Pakistan in Multan.

This year, Asia Cup will take place in the 50-overs format, featuring 13 matches. In Group A, Pakistan will play against Nepal and India. While in Group B, the teams of Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh will appear against each other.

The top two teams from each group will move forward to the Super Four Stage where the teams will battle for securing a spot in the final. The finale of the tournament will be witnessed on 17th September at the Prema Dasa Stadium in Colombo.

The Asia Cup holds immense significance as five out of six participating teams will play for the upcoming ODI World Cup scheduled in India on 5th October.

According to the schedule revealed by PCB, the venue to host 4 matches now includes two cities, Multan will host the opening match while Lahore will witness the stage three matches and Super Four match. September 3, marks the clash between Bangladesh and Afghanistan in Lahore followed by Sri Lanka playing against Afghanistan at Gaddafi Stadium on 5th September.

Pakistan will stay at the allocated A1 spot, Sri Lanka at B1, India at A2, and Bangladesh at B2, despite where they finish in the first round.  The Super Four match scheduled to take place on 6th September includes Group A (A1) winners and Group B (B2) runners-up.

Pakistan and India can appear in another clash on 10th September, if both the teams secure spots in the Super Four Stage.
