A bear caused a delay in an international flight on Friday when it got out of its crate in the cargo hold. The flight by Iraqi Airways was going to Baghdad but had to be postponed for about an hour due to the bear’s actions. Passengers were asked to leave the plane while experts in Dubai sedated and removed the bear.
The airline said sorry on Saturday, explaining that the bear escaped from its crate “when it arrived at Dubai Airport.” The airline mentioned that they followed rules for animal care during transportation.
The reason for moving the bear and what happened to it after being taken off the plane was not explained by the airline. Dubai International Airport also didn’t say anything about it.
It turned out that there were actually two bears on the flight. The situation caught the attention of Iraq’s government, and the prime minister asked the Ministry of Transport to investigate the bear’s escape.
