Karachi Water Corporation has established its own factory for manufacturing sewer lids. The Mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab had the privilege of inaugurating the newly set-up lid manufacturing facility.
During the inauguration event, the mayor talked about how manufacturing sewer lids used to be lengthy and cumbersome and involved a time-consuming process. However, the new factory will revolutionize the lid making process.
Murtaza Wahab further disclosed that his factory will make around 400 sewer lids daily, which will be supplied to local government representatives. In the current market, sewer covers are procured at a cost of 3500 rupees, weighing around 10 kg. While, this factory will manufacture the sewer covers with a weight of 30 kg, setting a higher standard for durability and reliability.
