Sharmila Farooqui, a leader from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and a former member of the Sindh Assembly, has earned a doctorate degree in Law.
Sharmila completed her PhD from Jamia Karachi. She began studying for an MPhil in 2018 and finished her research in 2020. Her PhD was awarded in 2023 based on her thesis.
She shared the news on a social media platform, announcing that she has received her PhD in Law. Sharmila has been elected as a member of the Sindh Assembly two times.
She is the daughter of Usman Farooqi, a former bureaucrat and chairman of Pakistan Steel Mills, and the granddaughter of N M Uqaili, who was a former finance minister of Pakistan.
