Talented singers Aima Baig and Trishala Gurung will be performing at the opening ceremony of the Asia Cup 2023 in Multan on Wednesday. The ceremony will happen before the first match of the tournament, which will feature Pakistan and Nepal at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The Asia Cup 2023 is taking place from August 30 to September 17 and will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. However, not all the matches will be in Pakistan because the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided not to send their team to Pakistan due to security concerns.
Pakistan is in Group A along with Nepal and India, while Group B consists of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. There will be four matches in Pakistan, and the remaining nine, including the final, will be in Sri Lanka.
This year’s Asia Cup is different from before because it will be in the 50-over format, which helps teams prepare for the World Cup in India later in the same year. The last time the 50-over Asia Cup was played was in 2018, and India is the defending champion from that edition.
