Just hours after their first match against Nepal in the Asia Cup 2023, the Pakistan cricket team headed to Sri Lanka for their next big game against India on September 2. They will play at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.
After landing at Colombo airport, the team took a bus to Kandy. They’ll rest for a day and then start practicing for the important match.
Interestingly, even though Pakistan is supposed to host the Asia Cup, most of the matches (9 out of 13) are being played in Sri Lanka. This change happened because the Indian cricket board (BCCI) decided not to send their team, citing security worries. This decision has added a unique twist to the tournament’s location.
