Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who leads the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has officially said that he intends to go back to Pakistan in October this year. He made this announcement during a meeting with his party members and supporters at Stanhope House. People at the meeting included his brother, former PM Shehbaz Sharif, and other PML-N leaders like Chaudhary Tanveer, Danyal Chaudhary, Chaudhary Nadeem Khan, Dr. Anjum, and more.
Sources who know about this meeting say that Nawaz Sharif’s trip to Pakistan is indeed planned for next month, but they haven’t fixed the exact date yet.
About three weeks ago, Nawaz Sharif was thinking of returning to Pakistan in the middle of October. These sources also mentioned that he’s likely to come back in the “second half of October.”
Two weeks before this announcement, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had confirmed that his older brother plans to return in October. He mentioned that Nawaz would lead the election campaign when he returns and would also face the country’s legal procedures.
