This Country Launched Online Tourist Visa Offer


Namibia, a country in Southern Africa, has introduced an online tourist visa application system starting this Friday to make it easier for travelers to visit. This move is aimed at supporting the country’s tourism industry, which plays a crucial role in its economy. Albert Kawana, the Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security, highlighted that this step aligns with Namibia’s broader efforts to embrace digitalization and e-governance.

The minister expressed optimism about the positive impact of online tourist visa applications on Namibia’s tourism sector. He believes it will lead to economic benefits, including job opportunities for the youth and women. This development comes after the recent successful rollout of visas on arrival, which has already led to a significant increase in tourist arrivals, contributing positively to the nation’s economy.

Kawana emphasized that the new online system is secure, ensuring both staff and users can rely on it for convenience and efficiency.

This online service allows people from all over the world to apply for visas to visit Namibia without leaving their homes. Namibia offers a wide range of captivating destinations, including the iconic Namib Desert with its towering red dunes, Etosha National Park for exceptional safari experiences, and the coastal town of Swakopmund, known for its German architecture and thrilling adventures like dune boarding.

Travelers can also explore unique coastal experiences along the Skeleton Coast and visit the Cape Cross seal colony. History enthusiasts can discover well-preserved German colonial buildings in Lüderitz and the ghost town of Kolmanskop. The Fish River Canyon, one of the world’s largest, offers breathtaking vistas and great hiking opportunities.

Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, located in the north, is a lush wildlife haven with abundant waterways for birdwatching and river safaris.
