In 2026, Abu Dhabi is set to embrace the era of flying taxis as part of its efforts to become a global hub for advanced autonomous transportation.
Archer Aviation, a prominent company specializing in electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has revealed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO). This partnership aims to kickstart air taxi services in Abu Dhabi in 2026.
The key goal of this initiative is to reduce the time spent on ground transportation significantly. Archer plans to replace 60 to 90-minute car journeys with quick electric air taxi flights that will take only an estimated 10 to 20 minutes, making travel within the emirate remarkably more efficient and convenient.
