Mardan Becomes Pakistan’s First Power Theft-Free City

Mardan had been experiencing power outages lasting over six hours a day.

Secretary of the Power Division, Rashid Langrial, introduced “The Mardan Model” in Islamabad on Wednesday.

This initiative ensures there will be no more power cuts in the city as power theft has been eliminated, and electricity bill collections have improved in the area. As a result, Mardan has become the first city in Pakistan to be free from power theft.

Langrial stated that a nationwide effort to combat power theft is ongoing, following the directives of the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. He also mentioned that nationwide load shedding will only end when all electrical feeders are free from theft.
