Kyle Jamieson has been given the green light to replace Matt Henry in New Zealand’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 squad.
The Event Technical Committee approved Jamieson, who has featured in 13 ODIs for the Blackcaps, after Henry suffered a right hamstring injury during New Zealand’s loss to South Africa.
New Zealand coach Gary Stead mentioned the necessity of bringing in cover for the injured players and confirmed that Jamieson is on his way to join the team, with the possibility of training on Friday and being available for Saturday’s game.
Stead expressed confidence in Jamieson’s readiness, noting that he trained with the team earlier in the tournament and recently played a Plunket Shield match.
