UAE announced visa-free travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced visa-free travel for its citizens to Bosnia and Herzegovina, making it easier for people to visit the picturesque Balkan country. This move is expected to promote cultural understanding, boost economic growth, and encourage tourism between the two nations.

The UAE and Bosnia and Herzegovina have taken a significant step in strengthening their bilateral relations by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on visa exemption.

This MoU, signed on November 6, 2023, is aimed at facilitating and promoting travel, trade, and interactions between the two countries.

Under this agreement, citizens of both the UAE and Bosnia and Herzegovina who hold valid passports can now travel to each other’s countries without the need for a visa.

This visa exemption applies to purposes such as tourism, business, and short-term visits. It is expected to enhance cultural exchanges, stimulate economic growth, and boost tourism between the two nations.

The MoU was signed by Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, the UAE’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Elmedin Konaković, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Other attendees included Zlatan Burzić, the Director of the Bosnian Minister of Foreign Affairs office, and Mirela Bubalo, Counsellor for the Bosnian Minister of Foreign Affairs. Both sides emphasized the significance of this MoU in strengthening their bilateral relations.
