Shadab Khan Blames His ‘Performance for Team’s Failure in World Cup 2023

Shadab Khan, the vice-captain of the Pakistan cricket team, said that his own poor performance was a key reason for the team’s exit from the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023.

He expressed disappointment, admitting that the entire team didn’t meet expectations but emphasized the importance of learning and getting better in cricket.

Shadab acknowledged his personal letdown and recognized that his performance affected the team’s overall outcome. He highlighted the need for each player to take responsibility for their performance and mentioned that he plans to analyze his mistakes when he returns to Pakistan.

While acknowledging team-wide mistakes, especially in bowling, Shadab emphasized the importance of adapting to modern cricket in both batting and bowling. He rejected the idea of blaming only the captain, stating that everyone in the team shares responsibility for the below-par performance.
