Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has removed former player Salman Butt as a consultant member to chief selector Wahab Riaz.
The decision came after public backlash and concerns over Butt’s appointment, considering his past involvement in spot-fixing, which led to imprisonment and a cricket ban.
The PCB had earlier confirmed the appointments of Kamran Akmal, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, and Salman Butt as consultant members to the chief selector.
However, the reversal of Salman Butt’s appointment was announced by Wahab Riaz during a press conference.
The consultant members are tasked with providing recommendations and feedback but do not have independent decision-making powers.
