For the first time in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), a woman police officer has reached the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). This historic step is being seen as a major milestone for women’s representation in law enforcement.
According to an official notification, officer Gul has been appointed as SSP Investigation in Peshawar. With this role, she becomes the first woman to take charge of the province’s investigative wing, a department that plays a key role in solving cases and ensuring justice.
Gul, who comes from Swabi, is an officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP). She holds the Grade-18 position and has an impressive academic background. She was also awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, which highlights her strong commitment to education and leadership.
Her appointment has been welcomed not only as a personal achievement but also as an example of merit-based progress in K-P’s police force. Many believe that her presence will inspire other women to join the police and aim for leadership positions.
