Abdul Basit Wins Corporate Travel Professional of the Year 2025 in Amsterdam Netherlands

Abdul Basit, Global Manager of Workplace & Travel Services at Flora Food Group, has received the prestigious Corporate Travel Professional of the Year award. The award was presented by Reismedia Group, the largest independent travel publisher in the Netherlands and the organizer of the annual Zakenreis Awards, at a ceremony held in Amsterdam on Friday, November 7.

The recognition highlights Basit’s strong leadership in corporate travel management. He brings more than a decade of global experience across major FMCG and food industries. In his role, he leads the global Travel & Expenses function and focuses on cost control, policy compliance, and traveler wellbeing. His approach supports the company’s wider business transformation goals.

Basit’s work combines strategic thinking with hands-on operational expertise. He has improved global travel operations, including through a successful partnership with Egencia / AMEX GBT. He has also led digital transformation efforts by introducing virtual card systems, AI-powered expense tools, and data-driven decision-making platforms. His interest in technology, data, and finance has helped develop solutions that bring measurable value.

He strongly prioritizes duty of care and oversees corporate safety and security to ensure travelers remain safe and informed. He also personally manages major contracts, negotiations, and partnerships with airlines and hotels, driving cost efficiencies and improving supplier relationships. His experience spans Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey, and he now manages global responsibilities. He is also an active member of the Corporate Travel Association (CORTAS) in the Netherlands.

The Business Travel Awards of the Year, organized by Reismedia, celebrate outstanding performance in the business travel industry. The 2025 categories included Business Airline, Travel Management Company, Hotel Chain, Mobility, and Technology & Payment Providers. Abdul Basit’s achievement reflects the growing importance of strategic, technology-focused, and traveler-centric leadership in modern corporate mobility.
