Faisal Farid, Provincial Disaster Management Authority Punjab Director General stated that the recent monsoon, in Punjab more than 15% rain has occured.
Arrangements regarding rain effected areas had already been made where the drain cleaning process was completed by Wasa, district administration and municipal institutions.
He further stated that, 22 villages of Rajanpur and 13 villages of Mianwali District were effected and fully flooded because of excessive rain than the normal rains in the mountainous areas of Mount Sulaiman, where flood relief camps had already been set up.
Food, medicine and fodders are being provided and ensured spraying was also done to safe from diseases in the area.
Staff including doctors are also on duty. He further added that district emergency operation centres/control rooms should be fully functional in order to face and deal with any emergency situation.
Further, canal water flow is also being keen-eyed monitored on daily basis whereas, all the rivers in Punjab are flowing normally and no risk factor of any kind of flood is monitored there.
