According to the Prime Minister, cricket grounds will be created in all UCs around the country

Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the Korang Cricket Ground, which is being developed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), on Saturday and declared that he aims to build at least one sports ground in each union council across the country.

The Korang Cricket Ground, which is being built at UC Bani Gala, is the first organised cricket facility in the federal capital’s rural areas. “Because there is no substantial construction work involved, we are optimistic that the ground will be completed by the target date of July 15,” said a senior CDA official.

Locals have been reminded by CDA and ICT administration officers participating in levelling the land and putting things together that it is their obligation to manage the site in the long run.

Because the Korang Cricket Ground is being developed on CDA land, the cost of construction is minimal, and the levelling of the ground and other infrastructure development is being carried out by CDA machinery and labour from various departments.

The ground has a radius of 215 feet, which is the usual size of cricket grounds in Islamabad, and expert gardeners have already sown grass sections.

“This periodic rainfall in the city helps grass to establish roots after planting, and as the monsoon season approaches, we expect the grass to flourish by mid-July,” said a CDA officer involved in the cricket ground’s development.
