The Afghanistan Cricket Team set a big target of 301 runs for Pakistan in the second One Day International (ODI) match in Hambantota. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the top scorer, making an impressive 151 runs.
Afghanistan’s opening pair, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, had a great start and set a new record for their highest opening partnership, scoring 80 runs together.
Pakistan had to wait until the 40th over for their first breakthrough, when Usama Mir finally took a wicket. Rahmanullah Gurbaz achieved his fifth century in ODIs and scored his highest ever in this format. His innings came to an end in the 46th over when Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed him.
Rashid Khan was sent in to score quickly, but Shaheen Shah Afridi managed to get him out just two balls later. Muhammad Nabi contributed 29 runs before Naseem Shah removed him from the game. Haris Rauf, who took five wickets in the previous match, couldn’t secure any wickets this time.
