‘Afridi 1’, Rs. 1.45 Crore Bid for Number Plate in Auction

The auction of special vehicle number plates in Peshawar is continuing and attracting strong public interest. Many people are actively taking part, especially in bidding for unique and prestigious number plates.

One of the most talked-about plates in the recent auction was “Afridi 1”, which received the highest bid of PKR 1.45 crore. Another popular plate, “Khan 1”, was sold for PKR 1.11 crore. These prices show how valuable personalized and famous-name plates have become in the city.

Officials say the auction is seeing growing participation from business owners, investors, and car enthusiasts.

For many buyers, these special number plates are not just for vehicles but are also seen as a symbol of status, identity, and pride. Some people also consider them a long-term investment, as the value of rare plates continues to rise over time.

The demand for such plates has increased in recent years due to rising interest in customization and exclusivity. Names, single-digit numbers, and well-known family titles are especially popular among bidders. Social media exposure and public recognition have also added to their appeal.

Authorities say the auction process is transparent and helps generate significant revenue for the government. The funds collected are expected to be used for public services and development projects in the province.

As the auction continues, more high-value bids are expected, with several premium plates still up for sale. The strong response reflects a clear trend in Peshawar, where people are willing to spend large amounts to own a unique number plate that stands out on the road and reflects personal prestige.
