According to a report published by the Saudi Gazette on Wednesday, the Saudi government has decided to resume Aitekaf at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during Ramazan after two years.
Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, made the statement at an annual meeting to launch the presidency’s Ramazan plan for this year.
He further stated that the president will begin granting permissions through its official website in the near future. He explained, “They will be in accordance with specified requirements and set criteria,” Al-Sudais continued.
Previously, the presidency has launched an online portal to provide worshippers planning to perform Aitekaf with guidelines and registration options.
