The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), located in Karachi, has been recognized as one of the top 100 Academic Medical Centres (AMCs) worldwide. This prestigious acknowledgment comes from the latest Brand Finance 2024 Global Top 250 Hospitals’ report.
AKUH achieved the impressive 85th position on the list, showcasing its excellence in healthcare services. Additionally, several other renowned hospitals in Pakistan, such as Mayo Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, Combined Military Hospital, and University Dental Hospital, have also been featured among the top 250 hospitals globally.
The rankings are dominated by leading American hospitals, with an Indian hospital securing the third position. It’s worth noting that three Indian hospitals have made it to the top 100 list as well.
What makes AKUH stand out is its accreditation by the Joint Commission International, which is considered the foremost hospital accreditation body worldwide. This accreditation ensures that AKUH maintains high standards in patient care and safety.
Brand Finance, the organization responsible for these rankings, has compiled the list of AMCs globally for the second time. The top spots on the list are claimed by prestigious US hospitals like Mayo Clinic and Massachusetts General Hospital. Following closely behind are India’s Aiims in third place and Singapore General Hospital in fourth place.
This recognition highlights AKUH’s commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services and further solidifies its position as a leading medical institution not only in Pakistan but also on the global stage.
