Ahsan Ayaz is a professional squash player from Peshawar who now lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began playing squash at the age of nine and went on to become Pakistan’s national junior champion in the under 11 age groups. He has won over 24 national junior titles and continues to be the national junior champion in the under 11, u13, u15, u17, and u19 age groups.
He won his first international event at the age of 15 in Malaysia, giving him hope that he could perform better not only at the national but also at the international level. After winning several junior titles at the national and international level, he won one of the most prestigious titles, the World Junior Team Championship, in 2016, after an 8-year absence from Pakistan, which inspired him to compete at the senior level, and he won his first senior world ranking title shortly after.
He has played for Pakistan in over 30 countries and is the youngest player to be ranked among the top 100 players in the world. He is also Pakistan’s No. 1 player. He also serves as an advocate for hepatitis and liver patients in his home country, having lost his mother to liver cancer three years ago.
Ahsan is preparing to play in the Lifetime Plano Open 2021 in Dallas, Texas, with high aspirations of winning the tournament and making the country proud.
