To make sure the 5Es framework works well, a group called the Steering Committee met for the first time on Wednesday. The meeting was led by Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal.
People from different government departments joined the meeting, both from the federal and provincial levels. The Steering Committee decided to hold a special workshop after Eid. This workshop will bring together people from all government departments and other groups involved to talk about how to make the framework work.
The 5Es framework is all about five important things: Exports, E-Pakistan, Environment and climate change, Energy and infrastructure, and Equity and empowerment. Last year, the National Economic Council agreed on this framework, so the Planning Ministry is now working hard to put it into action.
During the workshop, experts from different fields like universities and businesses will share their ideas. They’ll discuss how to make the 5Es framework happen. The minister, who led the meeting, asked all government departments to come up with strong ideas related to their specific ‘E’ for the workshop.
He said that Pakistan needs to focus on things like building up money from other countries and making sure important areas like farming, factories, and services are doing well. He also talked about how important it is to use new technology to make Pakistan better. The big goal is to make Pakistan an economy that earns $100 billion from exports in the next 7 to 8 years.
