Air India Plane Crashes at India’s Ahmedabad Airport With Over 100 People Onboard

A plane crashed in the Meghaninagar area near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon, according to local police.

Soon after the crash, the aircraft caught fire, and thick smoke could be seen rising from the site. Emergency teams rushed to the area immediately. Fire services acted quickly, sending several fire tenders to the scene to control and put out the flames. A fire officer confirmed, “Our teams reached the location as soon as we received the alert and began working to douse the fire.”

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik also gave an official statement, saying, “A plane has crashed in the Meghaninagar area, close to the airport. However, we are still not sure about the type of aircraft that was involved.”

At the time of reporting, authorities had not shared details about any passengers or crew on board, and there was no confirmed information about injuries or fatalities. Eyewitnesses in the area reported hearing a loud noise just before seeing smoke and flames. Some residents rushed to help before emergency services arrived.

The area around the crash site has been sealed off for safety and investigation. Police and aviation officials are now working together to understand what caused the crash. They are also trying to identify the aircraft and find out if it was a private plane, a training aircraft, or a commercial flight.
