Air Karachi officially began its journey with a grand launch ceremony held at Karachi’s Old Airport, marking the start of Pakistan’s newest private airline. The event brought excitement and pride to the city as it celebrated Karachi’s return to the country’s aviation industry after many years.
During the ceremony, Chairman Hanif Gohar shared that Air Karachi was founded by 42 partners who came together with one common goal to revive Karachi’s historic role in aviation.
He spoke about how he first applied for an airline license back in 2006 and how this launch represents the completion of a dream that took years to achieve. Gohar expressed hope that Air Karachi would not only connect cities but also create new opportunities for the people of Pakistan.
Defence Secretary Muhammad Ali attended the event as the chief guest. He appreciated the efforts of Karachi’s business community for investing in the aviation sector and praised their commitment to national development.
He said that initiatives like Air Karachi strengthen the country’s economy and show the private sector’s growing confidence in Pakistan’s potential.
Muhammad Ali also assured that the government would provide full support to help Air Karachi and other private airlines grow. He added that a strong aviation sector plays an important role in improving tourism, trade, and employment across the country.
With this launch, Karachi has regained its place as a hub of aviation and Air Karachi aims to serve as a symbol of the city’s resilience, ambition, and contribution to Pakistan’s progress.
