The UAE has announced an important new change for Muslims in the country. From January 2, 2026, all mosques across the United Arab Emirates will offer Friday prayers at the same time.
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs shared that both the Friday sermon and the prayer will start at 12:45 PM throughout the country.
Before this decision, Friday prayer timings were different in each emirate. Places like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the northern emirates often had their own schedules. Because of this, people sometimes found it confusing to keep track of the exact prayer time, especially when traveling between cities.
The new rule aims to make things easier and more organized for worshippers. With one fixed time for all mosques, people will no longer worry about checking separate schedules. Whether someone is at home, at work, or visiting another emirate, they will know that Friday prayers will always be held at 12:45 PM.
Officials explained that the purpose of this change is not only to reduce confusion but also to promote a deeper sense of unity among Muslims in the UAE.
When the entire country prays at the same moment, it strengthens feelings of togetherness and harmony. It also supports the UAE’s efforts to maintain well-structured and smoothly managed religious practices.
The decision has been welcomed by many, as it brings consistency and clarity for millions of residents and visitors. With this unified timing, the UAE hopes to create a more connected community where worshippers across all mosques experience the same spiritual moment each Friday.
