Apple iPhone 14 Plus Customs Value Decreases Massively in Pakistan

The Directorate General of Customs Valuation has updated the customs values for various used and refurbished mobile phones, focusing particularly on Apple iPhone 14 Plus models.

This adjustment aims to better match customs values with the current market prices of mobile devices in the country. It’s essential to note that these changes don’t apply to phone imports in large quantities.

The revised customs values include significant reductions for Apple iPhone 14 Plus models. For instance, the Customs value for the 128 GB variant has decreased from $910 to $774. The 256 GB variant’s value has been revised down to $859 from $1,010, and the 512 GB model’s value is now $1,029, down from $1,210.

This decision follows a thorough analysis of different markets to accurately reflect mobile phone prices in the country. The aim is to benefit consumers by aligning customs values with the current market dynamics.

Regarding the impact on duty and taxes, the Directorate has clarified that specified mobile phones will be assessed based on the updated customs values. This adjustment will directly affect the overall taxation structure related to the import of these mobile devices.

In a positive development for individuals importing used or refurbished mobile phones, the customs values will now consider depreciation allowances. This change is intended to provide relief to individual travelers, ensuring a fair assessment of duties and taxes based on the actual condition and value of the devices.
