GIK Institute, one of Pakistan’s most prestigious universities has announced that applications for the 10th cohort of The Catalyst Incubator are now open.
The Catalyst Incubator is Pakistan’s first and only fully residential incubator which allows entrepreneurs the opportunity to focus solely on the development of their start-up through access to the latest technological equipment and machinery while being privy to the lush green campus of GIK which is itself strategically located to Tarbela dam that is itself the largest dam in Pakistan.
According to the details provided by the officials of the Institute, the 6-month incubation program offers a broad range of resources and facilities including access to state of the art labs, infrastructure and research know-how.
A stipulated stipend of PKR 25,000 is provided monthly for each respective team member and accommodation is provided for free on campus. All utilities are already paid for by the Institute so entrepreneurs can focus solely on the task of developing and realising their dream. Capitalising on GIK’s reputation, the applicants will have access to one of the largest international alumni network with a wide contact network as well for potential investment opportunities.

In the 10th Induction Round, as mentioned before, the Institute is providing a monthly stipend, free accommodation on campus with access to all of the Institute’s facilities such as the library, sports complex and a vast student pool. Access to allotted office space is provided as well along with a conference room, legal assistance in intellectual property, company registration, mentorship and training, and networking with potential investors are all such facilities that are offered alongside.
The deadline for the 10th cohort’s round has been extended to May 6th 2022.
The incubation program is designed to create and promote an atmosphere for developing ideas into commercialised products through access to the latest technological equipment and labs while the start-ups themselves live on the campus free of cost busy building the next big thing. Top teams are selected from business competitions held regularly throughout the year.
The Catalyst Incubator is a jointly funded project of GIK Institute and is supported by the Directorate of Science and Technology, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
