Wahab Riaz, the Sports Advisor to the Chief Minister, has announced a reward of three million rupees to honor javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem’s silver medal win at the World Athletics Championship. This announcement was made through a video message and was directed by the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi.
Arshad Nadeem made history by being the first Pakistani athlete to win a medal at the prestigious World Athletics Championship in August 2023. Wahab Riaz emphasized that Arshad Nadeem’s achievement is not only significant for him but also a groundbreaking moment for Pakistan’s sports history. He pledged support for such achievements in the future.
Additionally, Wahab Riaz highlighted the promising future of sports and athletes in the region and mentioned the upcoming Punjab Sports Endowment Fund announcement. He reaffirmed his commitment to improving the sports sector in the province, following the Chief Minister’s directives.
